Learning about World War One in 5th and 6th.

Hello everyone!
We are busy learning about world war one this week.
Today we were learning about the allies and the central powers. It can be tricky to remember which countries fought with and against each other, so we went back to basics and used toy soldiers to help us remember.
We had four groups, Britain and Italy on the allies team, and Germany and the Ottoman Empire on the Central Powers team. The bell went just as we were having our final battle. We will resume tomorrow but we already know which side wins the war! We used our new war vocabulary and we tried to remember the leaders of each war country too. We made trenches and our army base camps.

 Germany under pressure!
Very impressive base camp from the United Kingdom!
Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany and Prime Minister David Lloyd George in crisis talks..
 Battle in the trenches

These are our books covers based on our novel 'Private Peaceful' which is also about world war.

These are some of our war stories 'A Soldier's Sorrow'

These are our soldier silhouettes. They each tell a war story. Do you see the one on the bottom right? Dogs played a huge role in world war one.

We made the timeline above too, which has most of the main dates of importance in world war one.
