Centre of Gravity

Recently in science we've been examining gravity, in particular the centre of gravity of a person or an object. We did lots of balancing experiments using our own bodies...here's a few photos of the experiments we did using objects!

Introducing the amazing balancing can!

Precision balancing!

We took turns trying to balance a
€2 coin on the side of a €10 note!

Athletics!

Towards the end of October, 5th and 6th class ran in the Fingal Schools races. They were long distance races so the lungs were definitely burning towards the end of each run but it was well worth the effort...and the rain held off until the end of the very last race! Thanks to all the Mams and Dads for the lifts and well done to all the girls and boys!

 Pre-race nerves? I don't think so!!

5th class boys...the Dream Team!!

The girls helped each other along from start to finish...

Eye of the tiger!

Biding his time...before a first place finish!!!

That was easy!!

Cycling Training

We recently completed a Cycle Safely course with our trainer Richie! It was tough going and we really had to put the bikes through their paces but it was great fun and we learned loads about cycling!

 Helmets on, trousers tucked in!!

 ..And they're off!!
.
 Careful...careful...

Now that's how you cycle a bike. Nicolas Roche watch out!!

The Kilcoskan Angels are ready to hit the open road!!

Art Gallery

Our classroom is looking great thanks to the hard work of the boys and girls in 5th and 6th class...here's a few samples of their art!

If you've got a problem, and no one else can help, maybe YOU, can hire the A...I mean Fruit & Veg
Superheroes Team!

Our teacher had great fun tidying up afterwards...
(he didn't really)!!!

After some drying time and paint, lots of paint, the above photo turned into the photos below!!

The first week in March was National Tree Week in Ireland...

What a little bit of sugar paper, coloured match sticks, glue and some imagination can do...

Our winter wall...

We've been looking at The Aztecs in history so we made our own versions of their symbols. I've tried to interpret them and apparently it reads as 'we think Mr Kelleher is great' :-)
