April Activities in 5th and 6th

Hi everyone!
We are starting to see real progress in our window sill garden. Our sunflowers are getting really tall!

We are working on census projects. We examined the differences between Dublin and Galway based on the 2011 census, which gave some very interesting statistics.

We did some science outdoors..

And some hockey
Weighing our plants in maths..
And our Blue Star visitor visited us this week too! All our hard work is coming to fruition.

Excellent presentations from 5th class girls.

Our MEP, Lynn Boylan explained the institutions of the EU to us.

Then, after such a busy week, we had some relaxing music time outside :)

April Update:Studying World War Two

Hello everyone!
Another week has come and gone, and here is what we have been up to in fifth and sixth. We are learning about World War Two, and we are still busy with our garden to be!
Here we are working on our projects. They just love sitting at the teacher's table!

Such concentration! I cannot wait to see each group's project!
 Here's our outstanding art work:

We had tyres delivered to our school today for the garden. We just had to have a tyre race with them! We estimated how many metres they would roll. Well done to Davey who won!
 So close!

Well done to all the boys and girls who are studying positive and negative numbers at the moment. Davey scored 95% in these really challenging game!

We had an interesting debate on Friday. The topic was 'Is Gossip Ever Okay?' Apparently so!

Gardening and Picasso!

 Gardening Week One:
Here we are, working on the beginnings of what will be a beautiful garden! We started planting herbs, and flowers. We have them in the classroom for now and once they come up we will move them outside.

We were learning about Picasso this week, as part of our European Culture study.

 Gardening Day Two:
We started gardening today when we saw that beautiful sunshine! We planted sunflowers, lettuce and potatoes!
