Dog Trust Came to Visit

We were very lucky to get a visit from a lovely lady from Dog's Trust and her dog Lucy today.

Dog's Trust is a charity that is based very close to our school. They help to re-home dogs. We learnt the story of one particular dog which they had in their shelter. We learnt the different steps that happen from when the dog comes into the charity until it finds its forever home.

At our visit today we learnt lots about how to be responsible dog owners. We learnt about a dogs need for food, shelter and companionship. We also learnt about foods that might harm a dog.

Lucy is a very well trained dog who followed her owner's every command. It is important to train your dog to listen to your commands for when you are bringing the dog for a walk.

We learnt about how to encounter a dog that we don't know. We learnt the safe way to approach a dog and also the best way to move away from a dog we don't like.

We will continue to collect Ink Cartridges next school term to help feed the dogs in the charity. 1 cartridge will feed a dog for a week. So keep any empty cartridges to add to our collect for the charity over the summer months and bring them into school when we are back in September.
