Finglas Garda Station Visit...

On 25th of September the 6th class boys and girls were invited to Finglas Garda Station. Contrary to popular belief, I would like to put it on the record that the children were invited, not arrested! ;-) A big thank you to the Garda Síochána and Dublin Fire Brigade, we had great fun!

The old and the new...(very) old Garda car above and its modern day equivalent below!

I know what you're thinking...and yes, it was tempting to 'accidentally' lose the key!

Nobody seems very impressed with the out of shot en suite facilities in the cell!

Before and after photos courtesy of Dublin Fire Brigade...I used to own an identical car so I found this process quite upsetting!!

Not many people can say they've conducted the
Garda Band!

The backing singers!

Green School Biodiversity Day!

We did lots of research work on our projects for Green School Biodiversity Day! It required a really big effort but our projects turned out so well that it was worth it in the end...plus we got to use the laptops!!

In the words of Victor Meldrew...'I DON'T BELIEVE IT'

For some reason I keep humming The Typewriter song when I see this photo!

A healthy breakfast...the perfect start to any busy day!

That's not the most confident pat I've ever seen in my life!

The boys and girls from 5th and 6th class terrify a small horse!

We had lots of visitors on the day including O'Malley the cat...

A tortoise...

A tarantula

And some ducks!

Here are our finished projects. We told all the boys and girls in 3rd and 4th class about our projects and they told us about all the work they did!

Green School Biodiversity 5

We gave some old potatoes a new lease of life by giving them faces and growing cress seeds in their carved out heads for hair! It was great fun designing them but gluing their faces on proved trickier than expected! Nonetheless we persevered and here are the results!

At the risk of giving my age away, these two really remind me of an old kids TV show called The Flumps!

A candidate for Movember!

Tá mé go maith, go raibh maith agat!
