Green School Biodiversity Day!

We did lots of research work on our projects for Green School Biodiversity Day! It required a really big effort but our projects turned out so well that it was worth it in the end...plus we got to use the laptops!!

In the words of Victor Meldrew...'I DON'T BELIEVE IT'

For some reason I keep humming The Typewriter song when I see this photo!

A healthy breakfast...the perfect start to any busy day!

That's not the most confident pat I've ever seen in my life!

The boys and girls from 5th and 6th class terrify a small horse!

We had lots of visitors on the day including O'Malley the cat...

A tortoise...

A tarantula

And some ducks!

Here are our finished projects. We told all the boys and girls in 3rd and 4th class about our projects and they told us about all the work they did!

Green School Biodiversity 5

We gave some old potatoes a new lease of life by giving them faces and growing cress seeds in their carved out heads for hair! It was great fun designing them but gluing their faces on proved trickier than expected! Nonetheless we persevered and here are the results!

At the risk of giving my age away, these two really remind me of an old kids TV show called The Flumps!

A candidate for Movember!

Tá mé go maith, go raibh maith agat!

St. Patrick's Day

We had great craic on St. Patrick's Day. Helen very kindly brought in her fiddle and played a few jigs for us...3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th class danced the Staicín Eorna and the Staicín Johnny...we had a céilí off (dance off) and the whole school danced a version of the Macarena with an Irish twist!

The boys from 5th and 6th class forgot to shave that morning!

Mr Brennan contemplated keeping his new haircut but Mr Caulfield advised him against it!

Cover your ears...don't say you weren't warned!!
